Научно-изследователска област

Лабораторията е специализирана в провеждане на различни видове анализи, с които се подпомага научно-изследователската дейност на ИЕЕС. Извършва се рентгенофазов и рентгеноструктурен анализ на твърдофазни материали. Изследва се морфологията и размера на частици и кристали на веществата чрез електронна микроскопия (SEM, TEM). В лабораторията се определят основните параметри на порите в порести материали: общ обем на порите, разпределението им по големина, обемна и скелетна плътност, специфична повърхност и др. Извършва се химически анализ на оловни, литиеви и никелови съединения, различни въглени и други вещества, с което се охарактеризира състава на изходните материали, използвани в електрохимични източници на ток. Проследяват се химичните превръщания на различни етапи от работа на батериите.
